July Savings: At least we saved

July, July, July, where did you go?  It feels like just yesterday I was enjoying you!

Groceries: -$153.09
Eating out: $95.16
Gas: $8
Natural gas: $11.58
Electric: $3.59
Remodel loan: $237.50

Note that I removed my mortgage overpayment from the list of savings because I am back to overpaying it (for PMI reasons right now).  Well, we almost did good!  I could speculate on what happened to the groceries but…it really won’t get me anywhere.  I wasn’t as careful as I usually am and it shows!  I blew my $250 budget for the month even.

My monthly savings comes in at $202.74.  I’m still in a positive number, but this really isn’t heading in the direction I want.  Over eleven months I have saved $4,300.61 and put it right toward medical bills.  By making simple cuts over the last year, I have been able to pay almost half of my medical bills off without cutting into my lifestyle or draining my emergency fund/savings.

My net worth increased by $4,342 throughout July for a total yearly increase of $27,272.  I rate my year-end goal of $50,000 probably achievable still.

About His Polish Princess

I'm an engineer by day and an entrepreneur by night. I live with my Old Man, and our cat, Junior. Okay, so the cat is mine, not ours. I have some old fashioned opinions and I believe the unlikely can be achieved with hard work and a little bit of luck. I like cars and motorcycles and remodeling houses and taking risks. I love my family and my community in Small Town, USA. I believe life is one grand adventure that should be lived and thoroughly enjoyed. In 2013 I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and focused on natural healing. Fortunately, my disease has been in remission since 2014. In 2015 I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. These things are just a road bump in life. They won't stop me from remodeling or buying houses or starting new ventures. Life is all about how you see it.
